Conversas Fora da Caixa – Interview with Ane Kirkegaard, founder of Pax Globalis

Ane KIrkegaard is a peace activist, her reflections about how we can understand the politics of peace, war and conflict and how to engage in the community to bring change and nurture positive peace are very precious. We wish to express our admiration and gratitude for her extraordinary work and dedication. The world needs more people with a kind heart and bright mind such as her.

Here is a short bio with some information about her journey and work experience in the field of Peace Studies and Activism.

“My passion is peace. Since my early teens I have been engaged in different ways in peace work – first as a youth activist and leader, and later as a peace educator in higher education. I started Pax Globalis, a peace education platform to bring academic and hands-on knowledge out of the ivory tower and into the hands of peace activists, journalists, diplomats and just regular people with a passion like mine. My approach is very much inspired by Scandinavian peace research, the Dependency School/decolonial theory and conceptualisations of peace in Islamic philosophy.
